We contend that every Christian should do some formal bible study, they may not want to be a pastor or evangelist, but they will be a better Christian.
All too often, the brightest and best church members decide to go to Bible college to develop their ministry skills. The church sends them willingly, expecting them to return as more able ministers of the word. Often the denomination sees their gifting and sends them to another place to minister. The brightest and best are lost to the local church, and the local church is weakened. It is a sad reality that no longer needs to be the case.
