This work on the Blood Covenant has been very much a labour of love. Since first hearing of the Blood Covenant through a series of tapes by a William E. Emmons and its concepts in 1989 I determined to present a work for myself that would explain how the Blood Covenant works, why God uses a Blood Covenant and what the benefits of the Blood Covenant are to us as His people.
As I began to search through such works as Encyclopaedias of both a secular and religious nature I became fascinated at the similarity between the Covenants in the Word of God and the ancient secular Covenants that date back before 2nd millennia BC
Many of my questions concerning the word of God were answered as I discovered more of the Word of God and His Blood Covenant: Why did he made such promises to us as he has made? Why does our God hold such an eternal love for us? Why did God deal as severely as he did with the Philistines and other OT people? The real meaning and significance of many of the scriptural truths were answered as I began to search the scriptures with reference to the Blood Covenant.
The anomalies I thought were there were due to my own lack of understanding and they cleared up as the word of God, which I had not doubted, fitted together in a wonderful picture of God's infinite care for us and his attention to the detail of our lives.
God has entered into a Blood Covenant with us through the sacrifice of Jesus. We have been wonderfully elevated to a rich stature in him and he has committed his very existence and his very life to us and our welfare. He expects nothing less than this same level of commitment from us. This we know.
The Blood Covenant of God explains to us the how and the why and answers many of the other questions that we have and gives us the confidence in God's ability that we need to enable him to keep us as we keep our commitment to him.
